Prompt: As the first semester comes to an end, take time to reflect on your learning and growth in this course. In a well-developed response, explain what you enjoyed most about the class, identify the project or assignment you found most engaging, and discuss which aspect of the course you connected with the most (such as poetry, fiction, writing, or discussion). Finally, reflect on one area where you feel you need additional support or improvement as we move into the spring semester.

As the first semester ends I can see how much I have learned in this class. I enjoyed reading poems the most because they made me think in new ways. The project I found most engaging was writing my own poem. I connected most with poetry because it shows strong feelings in few words. As we move into the spring semester I need more support with using simple and clear vocabulary. Summary:Presented are posters. Reflection:Got to see others posters.

One tradition

One tradition that is very important to my family is opening gifts around the tree during Christmas. We all gather together and take turns opening presents. I really enjoy giving gifts to my family. It makes me happy to see their reactions. Receiving gifts is always a joy. Summary:Just a study hall period Reflection:I learned on tradition me and my family have.

How have the holidays changed as you have grown older? Compare your experiences of the holidays during childhood with how you experience them now, focusing on shifts in perspective, responsibilities, or emotional meanin

The holidays have changed for me but I still love it. When I was a kid I would wait for the presents and all I had in my mind was the presents. But when I grew older I realized its more about the quality time you get to spend with your family and not as much about the gifts. I still love receiving gifts but. Since I matured I realized its more about my family. Summary:Did lots of vocab activities. Reflection:I learned lots of new vocabulary words.

Write about something you’ve outgrown but still miss.

I have matured past playing with Legos, but from time to time, I still feel the urge to play with them. I would spend hours on end constructing what my mind desired, with no need to consider anything else. It was really relaxing, as well as exciting, to make my own little worlds with tiny fragments. Although I don’t play with Legos anymore, the memories remain significant to me. Summary:read a poem Reflection:Learned how too anaylaze poems.

Write about something that you can't stop thinking about.

I find it hard not to think about what is going to happen in the next episodes of Stranger Things season five. I keep wondering who is going to survive and whether all of them are going to make it back to Hawkins. In addition, a lot has been on my mind concerning how the powers of Eleven are going to change. I am also wondering whether she is going to be strong enough to defeat Vecna. The last thing that has been on my mind is whether they are going to have a happy ending. Summary:Absent Refletion:Absent

Write a reflection about the creation process of the mask or presenting it to the class.

Creating my cultural identity mask helped me think about my roots in Korea. I used colors and symbols that represent Korean culture and my family history. While making the mask I learned more about where my traditions come from. Even though I have not presented it yet I feel proud of what it represents. The mask shows an important part of who I am and where I come from. Summary:Presented Masks Reflection:Learned more about my roots in korea

Write about the best gift you have received.

The best gift I have received is a trip to Korea because my family lives there and I was able to visit them. I was happy to see relatives I had not seen in a long time and spend time with them. I enjoyed the food the places and the time we shared together. This trip was special because it helped me feel closer to my family. Summary:Absent Reflection:absent

After watching the short film Identity, write a blog post reflecting on how the masks in the film represent the pressure to fit in and the struggle to discover who you really are. Choose one moment from the film that stood out to you and explain why. Then, connect the film’s message to Langston Hughes’ poem “I, Too” and to the mask you are creating in class. What part of your identity do you want your mask to reveal?

The short film Identity shows how people wear masks to fit in and hide their true selves. The moment that stood out to me was when the girl breaks her mask in the hallway. She chooses to be herself. This connects to Langston Hughes' poem I Too, where the speaker wants to be seen for who he really is. Both the film and the poem remind us that everyone deserves to show their true identity. For my class mask, I want to reveal my creativity, a part of myself I do not always show. Summary:Watched a short film Reflection:Learned more about my identity.

I, Too,” the speaker expresses pride in his identity and his rightful place in America. Reflect on your own life: What aspect of your cultural identity are you most proud of, and why?

I'm proud to be Korean because of a deep sense of community and loyalty that defines the culture. Especially in importance placed on family and respect for elders. I also love the resilience and passion that have made Korean culture-from its food to its music-a powerful. Positive force around the world. Summary:We read a poem and did a mini project. Reflection:I learned more about my identity as a person.

“We Real Cool,” the speakers make choices that seem exciting, bold, and rebellious, even though those choices lead to consequences. Write about a moment in your own life when you followed what looked cool or fun, only to realize afterwards that it wasn’t the smart or responsible path. What influenced your decision, and how did your perspective change later?

There was a time I did something I thought was cool but later regretted One day my friends decided to steal Nike socks from Dicks Sporting Goods and I went along with them At the time I wanted to fit in and not seem like a wimp so I didnt stop them It felt exciting in the moment like we were breaking the rules and having fun but afterwards I realized it was wrong and risky I felt guilty and nervous about what could have happened if we got caught That experience taught me that trying to look bold or fit in isnt worth breaking the rules and now I think twice before following friends into trouble. Summary:Read a poem Reflection:learned how to anaylisis a poem

Discuss something meaningful or memorable you experienced over the break, or reflect on what you felt most thankful for during that time.

Something meaningful I felt over break was the food. I loved the food I had great homemade pumpkin pie and amazing turkey and stuffing. It was very good and was very meaningful to me. I also had Mac and cheese during that time as well which was very good. I ate everyday lots of food till I was full. One day I also watched this movie called buetifial boy it was very meaningful because it was about a guy with addiction. I realized just how bad addiction is. Summary:We did are vocabulary for the week. Reflection: Today I learned new words.
